anker: a measure of beer at 1700 of about 10 gallons according to page 23 of this book.

Beverwick: first name for Albany. The suffix "-wick" means trading town as it does in English. The city was founded on the fur trade.

guilder: Dutch currency.

half vat: a measure of beer at 1700 of about 11 gallons according to page 23 of this book.

schepel: used in the mid-1600s as a Dutch measure of grain and malt. It equals 0.764 bushels or around 25 litres.

stuyver: a measure of currency which was valued at 1/20th of a guilder according to page 23 of this book.
