When rooting around the fridge at my folks I came across this and an Atlantic Brewing Company Auld Ale that I left in there since the spring.

This one is the sibling to two of Bar Harbor Brewing's other beers that I reviewed in the spring of 2005. This is their mild. One thing I have to hand it to the brewers of Maine is that they do what they like. Allagash sells white beer in local taverns, Maine Coast makes five or six different stouts and Bar Harbor makes a mild. This beer poured a hard to pinpoint brown that I am calling hazelnut-amber under a light tan big and fluffed head. It is the soft watery ale a mild should be, bright with moderate carbonation. The malt is nutty with caramel and chocolate at the end. The twiggy hop is astringent but not drying.

The BAers say that this brew comes in at 3.2%. My kind of light ale.
