The LCBO is starting its holiday promotions with some gift packs that will make for some interesting comparisons amongst the Belgians. I picked up the Brouwerij Van Steenberge six pack as well as one from Brouwerij Bavik with three different Petrus brands. If I plan some trips to Hull and Syracuse correctly, I am hoping to pick up some others in the Belgian styles like Unibroue and Ommegang and such other examples I can find.

I am planning some style comparisons for dubbels, triples and Belgian strongs as I did last June with the Witte comparison. The trouble with this plan is the need to store them, which I can live with being something of a grown-up now, but then I have to actually do the side-by-side. Considering some of these ales hit 10.5%, well, back-up can be required. I will have to work on strategies.
