Sunday morning after the week of the four extra nieces. I have good nieces so my complaint is muted but still... seven kids is a large number on the kids scale. I am left more fractured than usual. So some short notes:
-> Over at Jeff's I suggested that the allegations about over priced arena beer was not as bad as asking for a pint and getting a damned snifter.
-> You want to drink green beer, drink green beer. The scolding tone and wagging finger of good beer know-it-alls at mid-March is a bit annoying.
-> While I get the point, a bit of time can certainly take the edge off a misguided unbalanced beer. If brewers want to hold themselves out as artists, one needs to admit how much second rate and even bad art there is out there.
-> The hard cider makers of Ontario have published an extremely interesting fact sheet which shows the LBCO retains far more markup on good local cider than good local beer. Is this because of minimum pricing? They will buy wholesale as cheap as possible but only retail over a certain limit?
There. A post before 9:30 am. Consider it a craft post because there is no telling how good, how balanced, what good value it is. Now, we are going to use our new passports and hit northern NY. Cheddar, laundry soap and some craft cider. Maybe some Bengali Tiger, too. And a St. Patricks Day parade. Maybe I will see the Mayor, my bar owning Facebook friend.
