I know what you are doing. You are waiting, that's what you are doing. Ten days ago I give you until 11 December to submit your entries for the 2013 Christmas Yule Hanukkah Kwanza and US (aka False) Thanksgiving and you thought you would wait. You are thumbing back through photo albums. Or sitting in dark rooms beside a slide projector that makes the zooonk-clenk sound every time a new image appears on the wall. You are sifting for clues. Clues as to what makes for the best image.
There are prizes. Some prizes so far. If you have a prize to pledge that would be good. But we have some already. As well as an entry. Five actually from the splendidly named Fabio Friere, an expat Brazilian in New York City. That's my favourite. It could be from 1793 if, you know, they had colour photography in 1793. A tavern, a table, a pitcher and a meaty mitt or two. You may have a better photo on your cell phone. On a negative sitting in a shoebox somewhere at the back of the closet. Maybe. That's a good one up there. Enter. And not all on the 11th, OK?
