I have never had a faro before. Had one in the stash for a while. Then found another. So had no reason to not have one. That is as deep as it gets. G Dot O Dot in TBT confirmed my suspicion that in the past people did not like sour beers more so much as were more comfortable sweetening them. I like sour and I like sweet so this should all work out for me, right?
A nice wave of funk with the pop of the cork. The beer pours clear reddish amber under white rim and thin foam. The aroma is slightly mapled perhaps. In the mouth, it's smoothed by sweetness but not weighed down. The sweet leans to apple. Acids still peep through but the mouth feel is really soft, the dried fruit and nut hints coming out in the wash on the way down. The finish, however, is a little astringent... or maybe just otherwise acidic.
Modest BAer praise but perhaps one of those beers not well suited to statistical average.
