Man, I am crabby. I extend the contest and go away for the weekend... and there are fifteen more emails with photos on Monday night. Bear with me. I also have Stan and an Alstrom giving me the gears, too. Maybe I am a hater? Anyway, first up? Dave of SevenPack.net sent in this photo to the right with the note: "Going out to enjoy the recent dusting of
snow and this travesty happened." Drag.
Next, Craig Gravina of Albany NY and DrinkDrank sent in these three:
And Peter Collins of itswhatsontap.wordpress.com sent these eight in:
Zak Rotello from the Olympic Tavern in Rockford IL sent in his best photos from this year: "A lot of them are at the restaurant (hell, I practically live in the beer cooler) but here's what I got...."
Michael Bank of Ithaca, NY provided these four photos including one that's "the farthest thing from snowy but tries to convey how refreshing a glass of St Bernardus is on a hot sunny day sitting by the river".
Break time. Back in a mo. [Later...] There. Nothing like a chilled fruit sorbet to get that bit of refreshment needed for a big task. Coming up next, nine from Christopher Barnes of Ithinkaboutbeer.com sent in these nine. I particularly like that shot of A La Mort Subite in Brussels.
Now, a few entries from people who sent in just one or two. Dave McCabe of Annapolis Maryland sent in the photo to the left. Alistair Reece, he of Fuggled sent in the middle two, adding to his earlier six entries. And Ant of Moon Under Water sent in the photo to the right showing how "a campsite near Bamberg (Germany) had quite fittingly hacked a Coca Cola vending maching to sell local keller and land bier."
Stephen of Charlottetown, PEI aka the PEI Beer Guy sent in these six from out east in the Canadian Maritimes:
Former Grand Champion Jeff Alworth of both Beervana and 2013's upcoming analog release The Beer Bible sent in these nine with the statement that he did not think there were any winners in the bunch. I guess Jeff did not hear there was a prize for the best depiction of the oddest form of beer related transportation.
That's enough for today. I still have four entrants and their photos in the queue but I am done. Like the Texans appear to be in the first half. Not much of a game. Not like this game. This game rocks. Because it is Santa approved. 'Nuff said.

"Giving me the gears." I don't know this phrase, but it seems like it could come in handy. A Canadianism? East Coastism?
It is true: I have discovered the exceedingly rare Malt Zamboni. Czech, of course. And you're right, there ought to be an award in there somewhere. Dave's shattered beer suggests some kind of tragedy award as well.
It'll all be over soon--hang in there!

This just occurred to me: some company actually made that malt Zamboni. Who? What kind of market is that? "Gents, this is the business of the future: let's corner the market on machines that turn over Bohemian floor malts."
It never crossed my mind when I was there, but that would have been the strangest/most wonderful question I could ever have asked a brewer/maltster: So, where do you get parts for the Zamboni?

Malt Zamboni! I love it. Maybe we can each become exclusive authorized parts dealers. You can have west of the Mississippi.

Malt zamboni > all my pix.
Glad to be up against the best. Cheers to everyone and happy holidays!
