From the perspective of Tuesday, Saturday is not looking all that hot. Cold and damp, actually. Yet, for the first time in a number of years, I have shaken myself free and am heading to a beer fest - Beau's Oktoberfest. It is on. Really. "Unless there’s lightening or high winds the show will go on!" it says. Good thing the organizers are realists:
Bring a sweater! and check the weather because if it rains you’ll wish you had your flashy boots! remember you’ll be in a field in the middle of the country side. There are lots of covered areas/tents on site but consider a bringing a rain jacket, umbrella,
I like the implications of the sentence that ends with a comma. Not as ominous as "dot-dot-dot" yet at the same time you are clearly told bring more than they suggest. One thing I am not bringing is a tent as I understand Troy might. Oh, for the adventures of youth, one might say. To hell with that. Oh, for the warm hotel rooms with hot showers of middle age, I say.
So... boots, rain wear, umbrella... except my umbrella has Red Sox logos all over it. Like I want to be known for that right now. But what else do I need to prepare for this? Are there little heated socks inserts the canny fest fan knows about? Pop-up huts that fit all folded up in your pocket? Or does one just make like the Maple Leaf-Almrausch Schuhplattlers and keep yourself dry through a vigorous spin cycle? Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck. Looks like a fun time.
Smokin' Banana Peel... now that's a beer name!

Go ahead and bring the Red Sox umbrella. It's much worse to known as the guy that only uses his Sox umbrella in fair weather.

Good point, Tim. Being a Leafs fan, too, I have to embrace my burdens.

It's looking better on the Weather Network now. Only "isolated" or "scattered" showers.

Excellent! Eastern Ontario is notorious for the fizzling five day projection. Nearby NY is looking at only 40% risk for Saturday.

Looks like I'll be sleeping in the back of the TAPS covered Utility trailer! :)

Just take Jim's advice before you do!

Are you sure, Troy? Weather update. You know the season is changing when they have to say "plus 4" for the temperature:
Friday: Showers. Low 13. High 16.
Saturday: Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Low plus 4. High 8.
Sunday: Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Low plus 3. High 9.

It now looks like a clear but cool Saturday and Sunday. Still 40% chance of showers on Friday, though.

Yes! There is a much more hopeful graphic on the Weather Channel.

I always go by Accuweather. Nice and optomistic! Today was supposed to be showers, and it's been mostly cloudy, with sun poking through. Under tent coverage for 5000 people though, which is where all the taps are. And the ground is DRY now and tents are up. Last year tents went up in knee deep water!, didn't help much at all.

5,000 seats? How big is this frigging thing going to be?
Kevin - September 29, 2011 5:48 PM
maxed out saturday, at about that amount!
