This Friday is April 1st and its the 50th edition of The Session and I will be in the States for the day and... and... and... here's the topic:
...what makes you buy someone's beer?
Is that it? That's all? Well, that is the short form. Go see. I went on and on and then Mr. B made fun of me. I slumped. I really did. Right there at the keyboard. Children worried. But, you know what? Like a Disney character 55 minutes into the cartoon I picked myself up. I braced myself and I resolved not to switch topics to "what is your favorite [insert style]" because I want to know what you think when you think about yourself reaching for the wallet. Do you secretly think you have a little problem or are you a sucker for the next colourful label? Do you only drink beer from brewers within 100 miles, with a workforce of under 25 or who avoid having TV shows that emulate "Cake Boss"? What are your principles or is it stunned to have principles with something as ephemeral as good beer?
