So, If You Were Looking For A Good Employer...

While the little debate about whether Rogue has let craft brewing fans down by letting their employees down still simmers, one post from by own personal adopted man crush on a brewery, Beau's, points out exactly what I am looking for in a standard that I frankly do expect other brewers to try to meet if they want to earn my money. What is it? On their fifth anniversary, they thank what looks like most everyone who has worked for them - by name.

Beau's shout out to employees is pretty classy and Rogue could take a lesson from it to avoid a poisoned (figuratively speaking) work environment. I do however, completely respect Rogue's apparent insistence on quality and their right to run their business so that they can achieve it - they might just want to use a softer and gentler sack.

There is no way Rogue has to be a bad employer to make the beer they do. Utterly unrelated.

My employer never thanks anybody. They do have a tendency to lay people off, though—451 to be exact.
