Sure, I nominated myself - but I didn't do the judging so it is with some sense of residual self respect that I learned today that I got voted Best Beer Blog for Canada 2010 as part of the Canadian Food Blog Awards. Rather than go on about me, however, I would have you have a good look at the other nominees:
You already know and should be reading everything by Mr. B. but the others jostling elbow to elbow with us need to be read, too. Dan in BC writes Small Beer and is moving into print media, calling us all out and thinking analytically about the pint, a scale of vessel I recently gave up on. All stuff I don't do all that much. Out of Edmonton, one province to the east, Jason at On Beer has also found his inky place while covering what's on the local shelves and making things happen in the local taverns. I don't do much of that stuff either. Jordan St.John of St. John's Wort gets brewing with the bigs and hinks about breweries that have yet to come into existence. Me? Not so much. He also writes the longest beer blog posts that I finish. Nice.
So, read more and read more of these guys. Too bad there were no winners east of me - but therein lies a Canadian issue all in itself. Thanks to the three judges to were kind enough to pick this blog. Oddly, only one possible owes me a five dollar bill so it couldn't have been that.

Congrats, Alan. And beating Beaumont, to boot. A nice honor.

Congrats Alan. I knew you'd win it. Mind you, competition must be thin if I got on the shortlist! Thank you for the plug, appreciated.
