I have to write about something other than the photo contest, don't I? While Stan may be right in his kind opinion that this contest "must be one of the very best inventions beer blogging has given us" we also have to remember there is a great big world out there. Like a guy actually writing a history of beer as it existed in the first years of my own town - that's exciting. How about Dredge slagging ten perfectly good words of our favorite culturally imperialistic language, the English language. I count twelve, by the way. Is that not news enough? No? OK, then here are the entries received today.
Aaron Chamberlain of Austin, Texas and publisher of Craft Austin sent in these entries:
Sean Giorgianni of Moreno Valley, California sent in this one:
Alistair Reece who needs to send in his address sent these:
Thomas Cizauskas of Virginia as well as Yours For Good Fermentables sent in this picture from a tasting of barley wine at Rustico Restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia.
Patrick Hirlehey of Waterdown, Ontario sent along these:
My American cousin, Susan Derkazarian of downstate New York (a hugely cool class of relative to have from the Canadian point of view) spied the long abiding love of the baby plus beer category and sent in this portrait of my second cousin twice removed:
And Steven Ladobruk of Houston, Texas forwarded these:
That's 24 entries on Day 3. That represents around 14% of all entries from all of last year. Yikes. But I have perfected a quicker downloading and posting method that has gotten these into the system and out before your gawking eyeballs in 30 minutes. Fabulous. Science advances again.

Baby and beer. That one's a lock.
Have you considered just how how much of yourself you expose by posting these photos, providing commentary and eventually awarding prizes?
Reveals a lot more than your average Facebook page.

Well, they're not my photos and, to be honest, you are aware I make all this stuff up, right?

Thanks for posting my entry! The pic was taken in Oceanside at a local pub. The peanut is there because it reminded my wife and I of the Rubber Ducky song from Sesame Street. Your contest, by the way, is terrific. I really enjoy seeing the different brews!
