It gets worse! As a photo in today's Globe clearly shows, it wasn't champagne the ladies were enjoying on ice, but Segura Viudas, a perfectly fine cava but as far from champagne as Canadian is from Phillips IPA.
The real scandal here is why a gutsy gold medal victory doesn't rate better hootch.
