Here we go. The first wave of awards for the photo contest winners. Winner has a number of meanings as you will see. Some prizes go to the best art. Some for other reasons. Included in tonights awards are the four category winners as well as the three Canada-only prizes. And please bear with me as I am doing some fancy pants table HTML work on this page and I have no idea if I am going to get this right. I will put the winners and gift givers will be put in contact by email.
| James Tien,Gravenhurst, Ontario for a picture that I like more and more the more I look at it. That beer must have been tasty. | James has won the wonderful Roland and Russell celebration gift pack. Arrangements for delivery to be made after I connect donor and donee by email. | |
| Dan Chapman of Brantford, Ontario. I love the way the photo captures the flux between head and tripel. | Dan gets a TAPS magazine subscription and stuff to be delivered by Troy Burch. | |
| Peter Bailey of Edmonton, Alberta for being the first entrant. You know when you were told that promptness is a virtue? So it is. | Peter has also earned himself a TAPS magazine subscription and stuff to be delivered by Troy Burch. | |
| Max Bahnson, Tursko, Czech Republic for winning the beer and baby category and also for this one of a Czech bartender. | Max will be sent a swell Portsmouth Brewery t-shirt plus Ian Coutt's book Brew North, all mailed by me. | |
| Robert Gale of Wales for the lone drinker at the Murenger pub in Newport, South Wales which won the prize for the beer and place category. | Robert can look forward to "a small Jiffy bag with tat" from Zak Avery and/or his shop Beer Ritz in Leeds. | |
| Lars Marius Garshol of Norway for the winner of the beer portraiture class. | Lars will get a long sleeve t-shirt sent directly from the good people of Shipyard Brewing in Portland, Maine, USA. | |
| John Lewington of Lowestoft, Suffolk England for his victorious artwork in the beer and snow category. | John will be receiving Martyn Cornell's latest book Amber, Gold and Black to be forwarded directly by Martyn. |
I hope that table works the first time. I am having a delay in posting and display that makes for an effect not unlike working on 1993-esque Pentium 17 with a 128 modem. So, cross your fingers along with me and lets get these prizes awarded... hey, it worked OK. This internet thing may take off after all.

In regards to the photo submitted by James Tien:
Yes, that beer was tasty.
So were the other 24 beers from the tasting that night.
Every year we have a tasting party for beers I collect on my travels around North America.
Cheers,
Matt
