I just noticed this milestone after post number 1,997 ticked by and wanted to make mention. Even though there are posts back to May 2003, the stand alone beer blog was born with this post on Saturday, 23 October 2004. Three days later I was posting a list of a handful of other beer websites that I had been following. Beer Church is still there as are the BAers as well as the epic Home Brew Digest but some of the others have pretty much moved on. There weren't many beer blogs out there and some, like the should be famous except for being so premature six post "Beer Blog" of 2000-2001, just didn't last that long.
I don't know what 2,000 posts or a 2,000th post on beer has meant to me and my life or to you and yours but for what it's worth this am it. Maybe you can add to the 6,872 comments and let me know.

I hadn't realised you're only six months older than me. You look a lot more...
Happy 2000 posts!

I only look older because I am so much fatter and have worn my fingers down to bloody stumps with all this typing.

Many happy returns of the blog. No wonder you're the number one result in Google for the query 'beer blog". You deserve it.

Volume, baby. It's the secret to success in retail and in blogging, too.
