You can click on the picture to see the proof that I celebrated International Give Your Brewer A Beer Day in fine style this afternoon. I don't know how you honoured the great holiday but I stopped by Church-Key Brewing and had a chat with John the brewer and gave him a Gumballhead from Three Floyds. He was so moved he went into a trance-like state for a wee bit as the photo will attest.
As you will note from the photo you have to click through to see the brewer possessed, I was particularly taken by the name of the bottling unit John was grappling with - a candy apple red Melvico. I was not sure if it was the Melvico 2000 or the Melvico 2100 model and, frankly, I was too shy to ask. Once we snapped out of our respective trance-like states, John poured a glass of his new if still young Pilsner from the fermentation tank and it was dandy. Being a (bad) home brewer, I have a thing for beer that is still cloudy and yeasty and showing great promise of things to come. After a bit more gabbing, I grabbed a growler of West Coast IPA and headed back out on the back roads, heading for home.

I had a chance to buy a Melvico over 10 years ago. I thought the $400.00 price was too high. Yes, John's West Coast IPA is fantastic.
