OK, Greg has explained it. People have been using:
http://beerblog.genx40.com/rss
but now should be moving to:
http://beerblog.genx40.com/feed
Trouble is the "rss" people number 3,221 on Google reader and the "feed" people number under 200. I presume other aggregators have similar ratios of participation in my readership.
So, how do I tell +3,000 people waiting for my beer stories at "rss" that they need to switch to "feed"... when they use "rss" to know what is going on in my head?

The Web Way is to set up an HTTP redirect (302) from the old URL to the new URL. That way, Google Reader should learn that the URL has changed.
Whether it actually works I don't know.

I know. I will adopt an AM radio advertising strategy mixed with a small splash of fax machine viral commando marketing.
Simple!

The bigger question might be: Why did http://beerblog.genx40.com/rss suddenly stop working?
If you visit the URL in a browser, it doesn't bring up the "page not found" error page, just a blank white page. Which means somethin' funky is going on.
You got any techie types who can help you out behind the scenes?

If you send an HTTP 301 (Moved Permanently) then any reader worth its salt should stop asking for the old address and ask for the new one. Less clever readers will keep banging away at the old one and at some point you can either break it for them, or figure out what's best to do with them.
