I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them but they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care...
On the way back from the three-hour round trip beer run, I stopped at Gananoque in the Thousand Islands in time to catch the International Space Station go floating by at 7:40 pm. I had heard that this was supposed to happen and, what with the family away on Spring Break at the in-laws, thought I would add it to maybe the shortest international trip I ever took. Forty central NY beer for fifty-five bucks... plus gas, plus the exchange, plus customs, plus two fee payments for crossing the bridge. But it's not about making fiscal sense, is it? It's about the Ithaca and Saranac mixed packs and that surprise of finding Ommegang in the far north of the country to the south. And knowing you can have a Cascazilla when Cornell plays Friday afternoon. And driving on the interstate with the windows down. And space hardware in the sky.

Go Big Red!!! I have to say, I feel for you up there. Utica is even becoming a beer mecca. I was down there last week and there is a place called Nail Creek near Matts Brewing that boasts having 115 beers. Not too bad.

I seem to be up to the neck in being Dad far too much in the last while. I never get the opportunity to get to that night out in Utica. BY the way, have the PR people ever coined "Be-utica!" I really need to get a job that takes advantage of my real skills.
