While the suggestions have been absolutely streaming in for the first beer blog contest of 2009, I have been trying to figure out what the subject should be. What will capture the moment? Worry no longer as I have made the call - I have decided that I want a photo or other depiction of your favorite beer drinking vessel. Why so? Why now? Lately, Knut's camera work has been hitting a high with the picture from this post last week sparking a Pavlovian response within me. Then this morning Pete posted this great shot of two pewter tankards from a pub in Brighton - though it suffers a bit from "focus on a point beyond" syndrome. But that can work, evoke the moment of a slight daydream.
This is going to be an all media contest. You can write a haiku, send a snapshot or write an essay. Heck, you can take a glassblowing course and send me an example of your work for all I care. The prizes will shower upon the best. Now I just have to drum up a pantheon of perks.

Thanks for the kind words. It's most often the right rays of light hitting the right type of beer in the right vessel. And me turning off the flash and letting the camera do the job.

Hello - did you ever get around to declaring the winners of this contest?
Alan - August 17, 2011 5:27 PM
I don't think I did. But it should be you. Would you like a prize?

Hey, yeah! Where's my tie?

Did you send me an address? I seem to recall sending about 15 emails pleading for an address. Or was that the dream I had...

Well, I would like a prize but I would also like you to realise that it would be expensive for you top send it, because I live in Malta, Europe.
