Oh dear. It's like it's 1998 all over again if this dot.commy email received today is any indication:
Dear Sir/Madam:
We own the names www.1Beer.com & www.OneBeer.com. As a courtesy, we are offering the purchase rights to the first interested party on a right of refusal basis. This could be a great name for a new beer. This is the first and last time the name www.1Beer.com & www.OneBeer.com will be offered for sale. If you have an interest, please respond as soon as possible. The sales transaction and transfer of this domain name will be securely completed by www.Escrow.com. If you are interested in securing this name please let me know your offer as soon as possible...Now! Do it now! You know you want to.
You know, it would be a great name for that beer. It would, it would, it would. And you neeeeed it. Because we all know that registering a URL without any connection to a brewery would have the effect of blocking registration of a trademark...if you wanted to call a beer that. Because that is what every great brewer knows: get them thinking they really want just One Beer.
