I picked this up two weeks ago at Wegman's in Ithaca for just $8.99. Even with an 80 cent dollar exchange rate that is great value... especially as this is an old school ridged bottle - so when the end times come, I can trade that for rice and mustard, right?
Tonight, we baked salmon slabs and scallops in lemon, lime and ginger tonight and I thought that Brooklyn's respectful nod to saison would work well and it really does. There is plenty of spice in this bottle - coriander seed as well as a little nutmeg from the cream yeast. Big carbonation, too. There is also a bright thick lemony citrus seam running through the biscuity malt graininess. It's like a dry lemon merange pie in a glass. A great seafood beer and great value, too. Much BAer love.
And, yes, a little dab of good BBQ sauce is a fine addition to baked salmon.

This is a yummy beer. When it first showed up in Michigan, a local store was selling it for the ridiculously low price of 4.99. I bought a bunch.

We've got a bottle of this in and have been struggling to identify an occasion to drink it. With seafood sounds like as good an excuse to crack it as any. I'm off to buy some fish.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a rack of these in a grocery store here in Texas! Sometimes life surprises you I guess.
