A Good Beer Blog

Have you read The Unbearable Nonsense of Craft Beer - A Rant in Nine Acts by Alan and Max yet? It's out on Kindle as well as Lulu.

Maureen Ogle said this about the book: "... immensely readable, sometimes slightly surreal rumination on beer in general and craft beer in particular. Funny, witty, but most important: Smart. The beer geeks will likely get all cranky about it, but Alan and Max are the masters of cranky..."

Ron Pattinson said: "I'm in a rather odd situation. Because I appear in the book. A fictional version of me. It's a weird feeling."

"Where the heck did the days of whatchure fayvrit bock go? All these questions like who's your beer friend, what's your best beer place? I wish we'd get back to beer and a lot less about me"

Great Alan tell me this right before I host the June session and I was pondering a question on beer festivals. I'll take it under advisement. ;-)

Alan -

No - no - run with that one: there's drinking at beer festivals, I hear. I've only been to the one myself.

Alan, I can't see what's interesting about "what's your favourite [insert style of beer]". Where does that give scope for good writing?

Alan -

Like with haiku or the sonnet, a well structured restriction aids the process of good writing. And didn't you just write an article on mild for CAMRA?

Stonch -

Yes. It was effing brilliant as well, I tell you.
