I'm always astounded by how much some of these lambics smell and taste like scrumpy -- that is, very boozy, raw, sometimes cloudy cider from the West Country of England. You can buy five litres of the finest scrumpy in a farmyard in Somerset for about £5, which is quite a contrast to the price of anything by Cantillon in London!

I have to admit that Gravenstein is one of my favorite flavours of all time but I think I would rather have the cider for, as you say, a fraction of the price.
