Lew mentioned the fire last year. Olde Towne Brewing in Huntsville, Alabama had burned down. I probably thought about this for about five seconds back then but, what with events at Utica lately, I noticed this bit of good news right away:
Less than a year after watching his business destroyed by fire, Don Alan Hankins is back in the beer-making business. He's putting the finishing touches on Olde Towne Brewing's new building off Leeman Ferry Road and expects to start brewing again this month. The first few runs will be draft only, meaning that his specialty beers will be available only in selected bars and restaurants until the bottled product appears on store shelves again in early August.Good news and good work. The story in The Huntsville Times gives you a sense of the hoops that Hankins had to go through to get his business back on track. Get more detail from the brewery's construction blog.
BAers gave the brewery a range of reviews but having a B+ hefe is no joke - the article says it's Hankins' favorite style which bodes well as well. Best of luck to them.
