Being Canadian, there is a good chance that I like beer and I like hockey. But even I see the downside of this one:
Shortly before lunchtime Thursday, the St. Louis Blues sent an e-mail to fans announcing "Tuesdays on Tap," a promotion offering unlimited free beverages, including beer, for certain tickets to five upcoming home games. Asked why, he said that it was a "business decision." "We were discussing a lot of creative ideas," said McLoughlin, CEO of the business side of the Blues franchise. "It's unfortunate the e-mail went out."To translate:
- "business decision" = a decision not to commit suicide with the business.
- "discussing creative ideas" = we were drinking and talking and drinking some more.
- "unfortunate" = now the boss knows my name.

So it's not easy to nail down the appropriate reference here. There is Canadian Bacon, Slapshot or Strange Brew that would all fit this nicely. I am going to go with:
<i>All I said was "Canadian beer sucks!"</i>
