In interesting story but a great series of photos going along with the tale posted on the Waldo County Citizen's webpages about the 3Tides pub and Marshall Wharf Brewery of Belfast, Maine. I love Maine and have to get there in the spring. The photographer, Tina Shute, was blessed with some great winter light the day of her visit. Good focus on all the different sorts of wood being used. Have you ever noticed or have I mentioned that I like beer photos? "Take some picture of the children, too, Al!" I hear on vacations. Because, you know, I like beer photos.
My promise to myself this year is a better camera for beer the making of better beer Pr0n as well as maybe a little laptop gizmo to get rid of the scraps of paper and my after-the-fact postings. Does anyone have any recommendations for good quality but el cheapo technology?

I'm very happy with my Canon SD 1000. It's very compact, has a big screen, uses inexpensive SD memory cards and takes great pictures with no fuss. But if you want to get a little fussy, it will oblige you. Takes decent movies, too.
As for a little laptop gizmo... I assume you don't want a full laptop computer, but a little PDA thingy.
You could get a Blackberry cheap with a 2-year phone contract, or you could consider something a little more unconventional...
I've been considering buying a Nintendo DS, not just for games, but because you can hack it to run Linux and use a bunch of free organizational software, including a notepad where you can write on the screen with a stylus.
