I know I should not fret or boast about such things, but I was quite happily shocked to check out google.com today and see that this little blog was #17 for the global search for the one word "beer"...not "beer blog" but just beer placing we happy few one notch above Guinness if only for a time, as clickably illustrated below a few hours later after we fell to #19:
Craft beer shares one important characteristic with the theater - it requires an audience. Brewers and pub staff can all be in place with their product at the ready but it is only through the nobility, as Jackson dubbed it, of the ancient act of drinking that the moment occurs. Beer blogging is like that and, as we talked about recently, is both inordinately communal and rapidly expanding. As a result, any thought that there could be a celebrity beer drinker is as much an oxymoron as an elite socialist. No, while planning one's day around Google ranks is a mug's game, the trend is clear - lots of people talking about good craft beer is a part and a very important part about the craft beer boom and this surprise is one little part of that. Keep it up...and please notice that there is a dual meaning in that headline above this post.
And don't forget beer zoo day tomorrow.

Congratulations! A good ranking, and well deserved.
And I just re-added you to my blogroll today, so clearly it was my efforts that put you up there. (Not.)
(Why I had ever cut A Good Beer Blog from the Fruits & Votes blogroll is beyond me. Over-zealous pruning. Forgive me!)

See - it only has to do with the readership and, yes, that means you, MSS. I don't really have a blog roll so much as the web resources category so I don't blame you what with me missing the good manners of blog link reciprocity.

AGBB is #5 in the Google search right now. At least, it is when I search. The fact that I visit it often may cause it to appear higher in my searches.
Either way, it's still impressive.
