Bier Markt, Toronto, Ontario

Just a short note. Last night, I visited
Bier Markt in the Big Smoke for the second time, the first being a short stop waiting to jump on a train at nearby Union Station with nothing but a Rochefort 6 to keep me company. The gathering was a small bloggy get together hanging out with these
three good guys and one unblogging compadre. I had a really good lamb dinner and sipped as yet unrated brews like Achel Brun, Denison weizen and Maredous 6. The weizen was a hit with the non-beer-nerds, which is pretty good praise for a hefe-weizen. Other than that, the place was a bit hectic as there was what looked like a accounting school grad job placement schmooze going on. I've haven't seen so many button-down collars this side of the '80s. The bar almost blew the whole thing with a Sanka-like substance pretending to be after dinner decaff but the beers were all well handled with a good selection - though not directly related to the beer menu a lot of the time - and I had such a good time in the end that I did not even check the prices so I can't help you there.
A hint from the first time I visited. That yellow doorway is not the bar's front door despite the visual guidance for the very impaired I thought it represented.

Good to finally meet you, man. Hope we can do it again sooner than later.

Greg provides us with a far finer description of the meeting at Bier Markt.
