It is a good clean feeling knowing (or vainly expecting, at least) that I have a better selection in the house than is available pretty much anywhere, say, north of the US, east of Toronto and somewhere in the west of England. For a family trip, three new microbreweries and two beer stores is a good snab for me. Still, no great motherlode of mid-west brews yet but I have two from Lew's fave brewer Sly Fox and even a couple from Meantime in Stonch's London.
Details no doubt to follow.

"Stonch's London" - you've pre-empted my 2012 Mayoral Bid. Ken will be handing over the baton to me. It's all been agreed.

I'm curious to hear your response to the Sly Fox. I tried some, admittedly probably 8 years ago, that tasted like margarine. Utterly undrinkable. They've undoubtedly improved if Lew Bryson likes them.

Margarine! I have never heard that word associated with a beer. I have to admit that usually I am picking up seasonals or higher test brews both to see what is new from the brewer and to overcome the risks from shelf time. But I will look out for margarine notes.
