I have to start doing spring training for Day of the Dubbels, coming up this Friday. I had not considered that it was going to be Good Friday when I picked one of the more ecclesiastical of ales for the theme for this week but it's a good thing I did pick something with a bit more strength as we are looking at a short-term return to winter with a cold Easter weekend here at the east end of Lake Ontario. Dubbels are exactly the beer for this swing time of year.
I've just checked in with Stonch and he has to go dubbel shopping in London tomorrow to find something that fits the bill. I told him to check out De Regenboog. Greg was daydreaming about dubbels a week ago. Donavan posted about The Session at Spirit World and the word is being spread at Beer Therapy as well as at Brew Like A Monk. The Four Eyed (Beer) Geek has spilled the beans already and is going with Baltimore's Clipper City Beer's take on the style called Holy Sheet (subtitled Uber Abbey Ale) in their Heavy Seas line. Even Captain Hops of Beer Haiku Daily is taking time out from the beer poetry rumble to participate before sending in his entry for the Good Beer Blog Poetry Contest and a chance at its fantastic prizes.
Me? I am practicing tonight. I am getting that Maredsous 8 out of the stash, popping the top and taking it for a spin. More on that when I pour.

Hi Alan - I managed to get a bottle of the De Regenboog Dubbel today, along with another Dubbel, so am all set for The Session. Thanks for the tip! Cheers

Fabulous. I noticed on RSBS yesterday this review at HBJ which indicates they may make two dubbels.
