This is the fourth anniversary of the blog from which this blog spawned. My first beer post will be four years old next month. That has nothing in particular to do with North Coast's Pranqster except that I feel like a treat.
A gorgeous glowing orange amber ale clouded by a fine suspension of floaties under a frothy pure white foam and rim. Its smell is bubblegum, orange juice and all spice. Soft in the mouth from low carbonation with notes of pear, tangerine, cedar, hard candy, white pepper and generally beery goodness.
A lighter gentler take on a Belgian style than any I think I have tried - even at a beefy 7.6%. A core of freshness that smacks of saison. The handful of BAers who make up the unhappy 2% cite the softness as not being hardness and therefore miss the point.
