I once had a client who owned the copyright to Pabst Old Style font. I always liked that idea, owning something elemental like that. Anyway, stinking hot it is here in Maine and I have had a bunch of the great down east micros but the thing I am really liking is PBR. My pal portland's review is this:
"This tastes like cold beer-tasting water from a sping deep in the earth staffed by people in white gloves and tuxedos who bring you the beer on trays. A beer that Eleanor Roosevelt would drink. And you don't have to chew it. If I needed a meal I would have a black or amber micro with stuff floating in it. And it doesn't leave that foul taste in your mouth like Bud."Well, there you have it. And the music that the website plays makes it even better.

OK, but where do you stand on Labatt Blue?

I drink it when I'm out, because it's cheap and decent. But only on draft. I don't want to be seen holding a can of PBR, because then people might think I'm a hipster. In those cases, I drink Rolling Rock, which is also cheap.

As a founding member of the Pabst Blue Ribbon Society of Rochester, NY, I applaud this post.

I am having a PBR from Canada now, brewed under license by Sleeman. Seems overwrought with flavour. I will have to compare soon.
