I picked this IPA up in Worcester, Mass. the other weekend when I was on a road trip. I am a fan of northeast US IPAs. There is something in the body that just is not in the UK or Canadian version and there is a moderate sensibility that the west coast US versions just go past.
Wachusett IPA is a fine example. A bit of heat at the heart which is both the alcohol and high green hopping speaking. Around that heart is a blanket of pale and light crystal malt giving a highly reassuring fruitiness of fall apple, pear and a bit of light raisin along with a bit of grainy huskiness. The nose is floral and bread crusty. A nice deep straw under white rim and lace. This is the sort of beer I would have in the fridge every Saturday if it was in my market. 100% BAers agree.

Wachusett is a great beer, named after a mountain in central Mass, there is a ski hill on top. All their brews are yummy, but not easy to find outside Mass.

I love Wachuesett brews. Especially the Black Shack Porter.
